The analytical machines are dismantled to adequately clean and lubricate all required areas of the machine. This includes the motorized/non-motorized dove and zoom assemblies, the floating mark assemblies, the motorized plate assemblies, and several other areas of the plotter. The electronic control system is also inspected, with adjustments to the power supply, amplifiers, and other electronics as required. At this point in the maintenance, if there are components that are starting to fail or have failed, they are isolated and repaired/replaced at the owner's discretion. This can include the repair and replacement of motors, encoders, control boards, control computers, faulty wiring, and anything else that can negatively affect performance.
The cleaning and lubrication of the motorized spindles on analytical stereoplotters is something that most manufacturers recommend annually. Like changing the oil in your car, this maintenance helps prevent costly breakdowns.

The process of dismantling the machine allows the cleaning of otherwise unreachable areas, where excessive dust, fog, haze, hairs, dirt, and other contaminants obscure the viewable image. Our goal in this part of the service is to give the operator the optical clarity the machine had when it left the factory. This level of clarity is usually achieved.
